Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic will see pot belly pigs and goats. Keep in mind if your goat or pig is very large, Purdue University’s Large Animal Hospital may be better equipped to treat them. Purdue is also a better option for obstetrical problems, such as dystocias (difficult birth). The large animal hospital can be reached after hours as well. Contact them here.
All pets must arrive at AEAC in a secure enclosure for the protection of your pet, and other clients and pets in the hospital. This may mean investing in a very large dog kennel or other enclosure.
Stressed and upset large pigs and goats can pull against harnesses and leashes, and if they break free, they will be at risk of injury in our urban setting. (This is another reason why Purdue University’s drive in large animal clinic may be a safer option!)
Our staff may be unable to lift your kennel if your pet is particularly heavy. For this reason, you may need to consider bringing helpers to assist!
