Did you know a health certificate is required for ANY pet to cross state lines, including dogs and cats? Also, airlines require a health certificate before any pet can fly. We offer health certificates for all exotic pets. Before your appointment, call or email the state Board of Animal Health of the state to which you are traveling to learn the specific requirement for your pet to enter the state, or visit https://www.aphis.usda.gov/pet-travel.
Requirements can change, and it is your responsibility to find out the current requirements, which will mean examination within a specific time before travel, and could also involve special diagnostic tests. Since results of tests may take several days to obtain, plan your visit in plenty of time before travel.
Also note that international travel with exotic pets may be forbidden, can be especially challenging, and/or may require an extended quarantine period. Plans for international travel should be made well in advance of the travel date.
If you have any questions, please contact us before your scheduled appointment for a health certificate.
There is a charge for the examination, any required tests, and for the health certificate itself.
